History

Temple, TX Homes for SaleTemple began life as a railroad town with the building of Temple Junction, in 1881. It was created as the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railroads pushed north from Galveston and trains brought along prospective buyers of town lots. The new settlement was named in honor of the Santa Fe’s Chief Engineer, Bernard Moore Temple, even though he would never live the town that was named after him. Today, Temple is one of the leading medical centers in the southwest and has grown steadily thanks to a diverse economy. Not just medicine, but also agriculture, transportation and manufacturing make Temple a great place to live, work and play.
